M1 0W40 and SHU 5W40 are both the top tier oils from two well respected companies, Mobil and Shell. Both are ACEA A3/B4, MB 229.5, VW 502/505 and Porsche A40 rated full synthetics. Shell Helix Ultra also carries API SP and BMW LL-01, but I'm not too sure where Mobil 1 stands with these two (a quick google says SN & no BMW for M1, but I'm happy Na sklade • 1 variant 2,9 € 97 % • 2 169 recenzií Ďalšie informácie. 24,35 €. I thought I'd bought the wrong stuff, even though my local Shell garage assured me it was the correct oil. what part of the sw are you ....... could give you an address for some millers vrs spec oil ...... like wot I use
 Share I was in a main dealer (no names) and asked to see the oil they use as top-up/service. It was Helix Diesel Ultra 5/40 Seems Shell garages all happily stock this but the spec oil is as rare as rocking horse doo-dah. The best thing you can do is buy a guaranteed oil for top-up (there is a thread on the recommended ones) and check with your dealer/garage when it comes to service time. Skoda has a deal with Shell (stated on their website) to use their lubricants but it does seem odd that as a consumer you can't actually buy them.
 Share Thanks. There's another one for never seen it though....
 Share MOved this over the the Octavia section as I think it is better
 Author Share I think I'm going round the bend. I've just been in touch with SkodaAuto Customer Service Centre in Wallington, Surrey and they say the correct oil for the Fabia VRS TDI PD 130 96Kw engine is either VAG spec. or Both are fine. I've tried getting some sense out of Shell, but they are a waste of time ! As a matter of interest, SkodaAuto reckon the correct oil of my wife's Fabia TDI 74Kw engine is VAG - should not be used. Talk about confusion ! - I'm in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.
 Share The manual for my vRS says to use only. VAT. Only snag is you need to buy a min. of 12 litres. I have no more to say on this topic.
 Share Can anybody tell me what these VW codes actually mean. I asked my dealer to use Synthetic oil when it was serviced (thinking this would help my engine and reduce wear) and they used Castrol SLX. 504 00, 507 00. The handbook recommend 505 01, 505 00. Though for flexible servicing VW 506 01, 506 00. I assume 507 is better than 505 and 506? What do these numbers mean? Why can something as simple oil cause so many problems? Forgot to say it's a Fabia Vrs Diesel. Thanks Andy
 Share I don't understand how people have so much trouble with this! Skoda say for the Fabia vRS use oil that meets only. It really is that simple....
 Share OK, sorry for appearing thick I just want to clarify this. The oil that has been fitted by the dealer is Castrol SLX 504 00, 507 00. It does not have on the bottle. So I assume that this is the wrong oil then? Or does 507 00 exceed Thanks Andy
 Share Indeed - should be as simple as that! VW dealers sell in 5 litre containers.
 Share Hi Simple really, is the recommended PD (or unit injector engines) oil for the Fabia VRS, so if the container does not specify that the oil meets this spec, then it should not be in the sump. Try Opie oils for a nice selection. I am running Titan Supersyn Plus at the moment which does meet the spec. HX7 to półsyntetyk z dodatkiem mineralnej bazy. HX8 bliżej do Ultra i czystej bazy GTL. Osobiście, w silniku mniej zaawansowanym technologicznie, zamiast Ultra wybrałbym HX8.
